YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a significant petition campaign on Thursday, opposing the privatization of ten medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The campaign, which gathered over one crore signatures, was aimed at presenting a collective protest to Governor S Abdul Nazeer.
Reddy, addressing party members, emphasized the unprecedented scale of the initiative, which ran from October 10 to December 10. The effort reflected widespread public dissatisfaction with the alleged anti-people decisions of the NDA coalition government, headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The petitions have reached Lok Bhavan, marking a historic moment in public activism. Reddy accused the current government of failing to deliver benefits despite presenting two budgets, criticizing their inability to maintain public services and claiming that privatization is leading to increased private sector exploitation.
