In a recent statement, Maharashtra NCP chief Sunil Tatkare emphasized that no leader from the BJP has indicated plans to exclude the NCP from the Mahayuti alliance for the approaching civic polls. This assurance came after NCP head and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar held discussions with senior colleagues on electoral strategies.

Amidst speculations, Tatkare reiterated that the coalition remains intact, comprising the BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena under Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Notably, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's comments on BJP and NCP contesting independently in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad raised questions, which Tatkare addressed by highlighting the broader scope of Maharashtra beyond these cities.

As elections to 29 municipal corporations loom, Tatkare stated that the NCP is gearing up with a focus on managing internal committees led by leaders like Nawab Malik in Mumbai. The nomination process for the voter base, stretched thin by a nine-year gap since the last civic polls, remains a key concern. The elections are scheduled for January 15, with results expected the following day.
