Amid a mounting controversy, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann appeared at the Akal Takht Secretariat in Amritsar on Thursday. Mann, known for stirring debates with remarks about Sikh tenets, faced scrutiny from the supreme temporal Sikh authority.

Arriving on Wednesday, Mann paid his respects at the Golden Temple before meeting the Akal Takht acting Jathedar, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj. The chief minister had been summoned for comments allegedly showing disregard for 'Guru ki Golak' and 'dasvand', sparking uproar among Sikh communities.

Accusations from the Jathedar described Mann's actions as an affront, reflecting arrogance tied to his political position. In response, Mann declared his devotion to Sikh values, pledging adherence to any directives from the Akal Takht, emphasizing the spiritual body's precedence in his life.
