In the wake of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls, exit polls signal a decisive victory for the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. Projections by Axis My India suggest the coalition is likely to secure between 131 and 151 of the total 227 seats, with the Thackeray brothers' faction trailing significantly.
Voting unfolded across 227 wards in Mumbai, with 1,700 candidates vying for power. Exit polls from various agencies, including DV Research and Janmat, consistently forecast the BJP-Shiv Sena as the leading contenders, predicting a vote percentage favoring the Mahayuti allies at 42%, encompassing BJP's 28% and Shiv Sena's 14% shares.
This election, the first since the 2022 Shiv Sena split, plays out as a critical test for both the Thackeray brothers, Raj and Uddhav, and their political clout. As BJP embarks on its developmental ambitions, results will unveil whether the Thackeray legacy holds sway or if BJP-Shiv Sena's strategies resonate more with voters. (ANI)
