In a confident declaration, Union Minister and BJP leader Murlidhar Mohol announced that his party anticipates securing a majority in the recently concluded Pune civic elections. The BJP expects to win 120 to 125 seats in the Pune Municipal Corporation, according to Mohol's press conference statement post-polling.

Mohol noted that Punekars, who gave a decisive mandate to the BJP in 2017, are likely to do so again. The BJP stood independently in the elections, while the Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP) formed alliances to contest.

Despite the contentious and acrimonious campaign against Ajit Pawar's NCP, which accused the BJP of hindering development between 2017 and 2022, exit polls show a favorable outcome for the BJP. Saam TV and Jubilant Data Studio exit polls forecast a significant win for the BJP, projecting between 79 to 92 seats, with counting to occur on Friday.
