Supporters of rival candidates Meenakshi Shinde and Bhushan Bhoir clashed fiercely during the civic polls in Thane's Manpada area, sparking police intervention to restore calm. The confrontation escalated after allegations of mobilizing armed groups and attacking with chili powder surfaced, leading to a chaotic scene.

Authorities faced a tense situation when protestors intercepted a bus carrying ballot boxes, attempting to vandalize vehicles. Local Member of Parliament Naresh Mhaske visited the area, calling for peace and urging citizens not to succumb to rumors as the police managed to diffuse tensions.

Thane's Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Kadam confirmed the situation was under control, with all ballot boxes securely transferred to the strongroom and a heavy police presence maintained in Manpada. As accusations of election malpractice flew between the candidates, the police reiterated that no official offence had been registered so far.
