ISLAM Party Takes Lead in Malegaon Civic Polls
The Indian Secular Largest Assembly of Maharashtra (ISLAM) party has become the leading party in Malegaon Municipal Corporation elections in Nashik, securing 35 out of 84 seats. The AIMIM follows with 21 seats, while other parties like Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, Congress, and BJP hold fewer seats.

The Indian Secular Largest Assembly of Maharashtra (ISLAM) party has established itself as the frontrunner in the Malegaon Municipal Corporation elections in Nashik district, according to the latest trends and civic poll results announced on Friday.
ISLAM secured 35 out of the total 84 seats, overtaking the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which came in second with 21 seats. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena captured 18 seats, while the Samajwadi Party and Congress managed to win five and three seats respectively. The Bharatiya Janata Party, however, only secured two seats in this predominantly Muslim powerloom town.
Voting for the 29 municipal corporations took place on Thursday, and the announcement of the results is currently underway, providing a clearer picture of the political alignments in the region.
