The Assam Congress has leveled serious allegations against the ruling BJP as Assembly elections approach, claiming the saffron party is enlisting 'tenant voters' to secure power.
Addressing a press conference, state Mahila Congress president Mira Borthakur accused BJP of 'vote chori' and tampering with electoral rolls, particularly highlighting the wrongful exclusion of names in Biswanath Assembly constituency.
Borthakur further alleged the manipulation disproportionately affects Muslim citizens, with more than 70 voters being falsely declared deceased at a Biswanath polling station.
