The First Information Report (FIR) indicates that Chulliyil allegedly accused Cherian of using a vehicle owned by a drug trafficker during a previous Assembly election campaign in Chengannur.

Authorities are delving deeper into the allegations, registered under Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, for potentially inciting communal unrest. The investigation pertains to an incident reported to have occurred over five years ago.
