In a fiery address to the Rajya Sabha, Biju Janata Dal MP from Odisha, Debashish Samantaray, raised a serious issue concerning protocol and respect. The controversy arose when Samantaray was overlooked in the guest list for an event in Cuttack attended by the Vice President.
Samantaray asserted that during high-profile visits by leaders such as the Vice President, MPs are typically invited and given due respect. However, he was excluded from the list, which he deemed a significant oversight and an insult to the Upper House.
