The Maharashtra legislative council's privileges committee has called upon stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare to attend a hearing regarding their allegedly insulting remarks directed at Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Initially, the hearings were slated for February 5; however, conflicts in the schedules of Kamra and Andhare have led to a rescheduling to February 17, committee chairperson and BJP MLC Prasad Lad informed the Press Trust of India.
Both Kamra and Andhare have drawn criticism for their public remarks, with Kamra reportedly incorporating them into a performance and Andhare lending support. Failure to attend the hearing on the new date could result in additional committee action.
