In a passionate plea, PDP MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Wednesday called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to use his significant mandate to foster dialogue with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Para stressed the need for the government to go beyond rhetoric and engage in genuine conversations with the local population.
Para voiced concerns over the state of governance and the lack of empathy in the government's approach. He urged Abdullah to utilize his meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah to advocate for dialogue with local youth, rather than focusing on international disputes, emphasizing that the participation and dignity of the Kashmiris are paramount.
The MLA also touched upon the lasting impacts of the August 2019 constitutional changes and urged patience for any reversal. However, he highlighted the urgent need to address local grievances, pointing out the youth's sense of defeat and the ongoing socio-political challenges, including issues with detained individuals and continued security operations.
