The Congress party in Telangana achieved a substantial victory in the municipal elections, capturing over 1,300 of the total 2,582 wards contested. BRS secured about 700 wards, while BJP made its mark with approximately 275 wards. The elections, held on February 11, saw intense competition among major political entities.

Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed satisfaction with Congress's success, declaring wins in 83 municipalities and five corporations. Chief Minister Reddy promised comprehensive development for every municipality and attributed the win to the party workers' diligent efforts over the past two years.

While Congress led in municipal corporations, BJP became the majority in Karimnagar and Nizamabad. BRS, led by K T Rama Rao, claimed significant victories despite accusations of unethical practices by Congress. AIMIM also demonstrated its influence, securing 22 wards in four municipal corporations.
