In an unprecedented development, Telangana's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated a significant victory in the recent state civic polls by securing both the mayor and deputy mayor positions in Karimnagar. Party Chief Ramchander Rao expressed elation over the party's performance, emphasizing the BJP's status as the single largest party in regions like Adilabad, Kamareddy, and Nizamabad.
Rao remarked on the opposition's united front comprising Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and AIMIM, aimed at defeating BJP's rise. Across 15 smaller municipalities, BJP prominently stood as the largest party, indicating strong public backing, Rao told ANI.
The BJP's triumph extended with Kolagani Srinivas' election as Mayor of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation. Celebrations ensued, with Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and others lauding the victory. February 11 saw elections across seven Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipalities, covering a vast number of wards, laying a battlefield for major political parties, and confirming BJP's advancing influence in Telangana's civic domain.
