In a tragic development, Lebanese health officials reported that Israeli airstrikes on the mountain town of Nabi Chit resulted in at least 16 fatalities and 35 injuries. These figures were released by the Lebanese Health Ministry on Saturday.
The strikes took place overnight, with Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed militant group, announcing that its fighters clashed with Israeli forces in the mountainous region of eastern Lebanon late Friday.
Despite these reports, Israeli authorities have not yet commented on the incident or the alleged fighting in the area.
