In a significant political event, Shiv Pratap Shukla was ceremonially sworn in as the fifth Governor of Telangana on Wednesday. The oath of office was administered by Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh at the Lok Bhavan, marking a new chapter in Shukla's extensive political career.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with members of his Cabinet, attended the ceremony, underscoring the importance of the occasion. Shukla, whose political roots trace back to the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, began his journey with the BJP in 1983 and has since built a longstanding political legacy.
Prior to this role, Shukla served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and as Union Minister of State for Finance. His swearing-in marks his succession of Jishnu Dev Varma, as he continues to make his mark in Indian politics after being elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2016.
