EC Deploys Over 1100 Observers for Upcoming State Assembly Polls

The Election Commission has assigned 1,111 observers for the upcoming state assembly elections and bypolls. These observers will oversee the elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry, ensuring they are conducted fairly. Observers will arrive by Thursday and publicly share their contact information for addressing election-related concerns.

The Election Commission (EC) has authorized 1,111 observers to oversee the upcoming state assembly elections and bypolls scheduled for next month. Elections will be held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry, with bypolls in several other states also planned for April.

The observers, acting as the EC's eyes and ears, are tasked with ensuring that the elections proceed in a free and fair manner. Arriving in their designated constituencies by Thursday, they will remain vigilant throughout the process.

Upon their arrival, the observers will publicize their contact details and establish a fixed daily time for meeting with candidates, political parties, their representatives, or any public members to address grievances related to the elections, according to an EC statement.
