Former CPI(M) leader G Sudhakaran has declared that the Left Democratic Front (LDF), under the leadership of Pinarayi Vijayan, will not achieve a third term in office due to political failures. In a Facebook post, Sudhakaran announced his independent candidacy from Ambalapuzha, expressing disillusionment with the left party's leadership.
Sudhakaran, a veteran of the communist movement, voiced his grievances over the lack of recognition from the CPI(M) and the online attacks faced by him and his family. His decision to run independently stems from his opposition to what he describes as "criminal and mafia politics."
He remains confident in the support from the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) as well as the local populace, asserting that the ruling party's alleged misinformation campaigns have not swayed public opinion. The former minister claims wide backing from constituents of various backgrounds in Ambalapuzha.
