In an impassioned plea, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday urged the people of Delhi to resist provocations that threaten to unravel societal harmony, particularly in tense areas like Uttam Nagar. Gandhi highlighted that the citizens have already borne severe consequences of violence and must now embrace peace.
According to Gandhi, the BJP, along with its affiliates, has been instrumental in fostering division and unrest to keep the nation mired in communal conflict. He criticized these tactics as attempts to distract from essential national issues, such as defense and energy security.
The statement came amid rising tensions in Uttam Nagar after the death of a local resident, Tarun. With upcoming Eid celebrations, authorities have increased security measures in the area to prevent further escalation, following violent protests and property damage.
