Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, has stirred political discussions with his bold claims against the BJP and the Chief Election Commissioner, asserting they acknowledge Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's invincibility in West Bengal. Raut declared, 'Defeating Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal is not just difficult, it's impossible.'
Raut criticized the strategic transfers of top government officials, labeling them as a move to exert 'complete control' over the state, and emphasized that the country's populace sides with Banerjee in the upcoming assembly elections. These elections are scheduled for a two-phase process on April 23 and 29, 2026.
Mamata Banerjee herself accused the BJP and the Election Commission of selectively targeting West Bengal, labeling the large-scale transfer of officials as an 'undeclared emergency.' She asserted these actions amount to 'political interference' and questioned their constitutional validity, amidst concerns over electoral roll delays.
