In a vocal critique, Mumbai Congress president Varsha Gaikwad accused the BJP-led governments at both the Centre and Maharashtra of being responsible for the persistent issue of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.

Gaikwad challenged Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, a BJP member, urging her to demand accountability from senior party leaders, rather than blaming the Congress. She asserted that the responsibility lies with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Highlighting concerns over national security and other pressing issues like LPG shortages, Gaikwad urged the BJP to stop deflecting blame and address the root causes.
