On Monday, BJD MP Sasmit Patra emphasized the urgency for the US, Israel, and Iran to engage in negotiations amid the escalating conflict in West Asia. The rising tensions pose a threat to global economic stability and could exacerbate the energy crisis, warned Patra, who highlighted the imperative for dialogue.

In a statement to ANI, Patra described the ongoing conflict as increasingly troubling and underscored the necessity for the involved nations to pursue a negotiated settlement. He cautioned against the prolonged nature of the conflict, which may reverse economic progress made since the pandemic and incite global geopolitical polarization.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the Lok Sabha at 2 PM today as part of the budget session. A detailed briefing on India's perspective and strategies concerning the West Asia conflict was provided to parliamentarians by the Prime Minister's Office and the Cabinet Secretary.

The assessment covered the potential impact across various sectors, including agriculture, energy, and trade, with discussions on both immediate and strategic countermeasures. The availability of essential resources, like food and fuel, was scrutinized to ensure security for the populace amidst evolving dynamics.
