On Wednesday, BJP legislators staged a protest at the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, opposing a new government notification that allows changes in the reservation roster for up to 5% of panchayats.
They accused the Congress government of trying to delay local body elections and criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur, argued that this move might compromise the electoral process and is an improper alteration of rules.
