Ashok Mittal has been appointed as the new deputy leader of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Rajya Sabha, succeeding Raghav Chadha. Mittal met with Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu at Lok Niwas on Friday for discussions. Chadha, removed from his position, claimed he was silenced, while party leaders suggested he focused on superficial PR rather than substantive issues.

Mittal, also a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, is the founder Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, highlighting his entrepreneurial background. In statements, Mittal assured that Chadha's removal was standard procedure, emphasizing no extraordinary reasons for the shift in leadership.

The visit to Lok Niwas was publicized through a post by the official residence, describing Mittal as a well-known entrepreneur and political figure, deepening interest in the ongoing political dynamics within the Aam Aadmi Party.
