Senior TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has alleged that the BJP is exerting pressure on the Election Commission to manipulate the electoral rolls, targeting legitimate voters by removing their names and including outsiders. Addressing a rally in Khanakul, West Bengal, Banerjee stressed the importance of vigilance to protect voter rights.
Banerjee also criticized the economic policies of the Modi government, citing the rising prices of essential commodities like LPG and milk as indicative of poor management. The TMC leader highlighted the hardships faced by citizens due to unplanned actions like demonetization and the sudden lockdown during the pandemic.
Praising the initiatives of the Mamata Banerjee-led state government, he asserted that despite central roadblocks, projects like Banglar Bari and Pathashree are improving lives. He challenged the BJP's performance record at both state and national levels, demanding accountability and effective governance.
