Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has voiced her confidence in a BJP victory in the upcoming West Bengal elections, pointing to a public outcry for governmental change. Addressing the media, Sitharaman criticized the current state administration under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, suggesting widespread dissatisfaction among citizens.

Sitharaman noted a growing momentum behind the BJP, attributing it to calls for improved administration from the people of West Bengal. Reflecting on her previous campaign visits, the Minister emphasized that the demand for change is more pronounced than ever before, encouraging BJP leaders working in the field.

Currently campaigning in West Bengal, Sitharaman took aim at Banerjee's recent remarks on delimitation, challenging her stance on women's reservations. The government's proposal to increase legislative seats, in line with the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, aims to address these issues ahead of the two-phase elections on April 23 and April 29. Results are expected on May 4.
