Mamata Banerjee Accuses Central Forces of Targeting Trinamool Leaders

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused central forces of selectively targeting Trinamool Congress leaders in the run-up to the state assembly elections. She made these remarks during a rally in Islampur, following an incident near Dum Dum Airport where she alleged central forces attempted to check her vehicle.

"Central forces approached our vehicle at Dum Dum Airport," Banerjee asserted. "I encouraged them to check our vehicle. If Trinamool Congress's cars are subject to inspection, why aren't those of the Prime Minister or Home Minister? Is this only about Trinamool?" she questioned, adding a challenge to the Central Minister to scrutinize her car daily.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh held a well-attended roadshow in Dakshin Dinajpur, emphasizing a lack of development under Banerjee's leadership and pointing to a bias in fund allocation. Singh's comments highlight a politically charged environment as both Trinamool Congress and BJP prepare for a fierce battle in the upcoming elections, slated for April 23 and April 29, with results on May 4.
