KPCC chief Sunny Joseph has called for restraint among Congress leaders over the nomination of a Chief Ministerial candidate, stressing the importance of unity until election results are revealed on May 4. Joseph, speaking on Thursday, highlighted the necessity for senior party figures to set an example by refraining from public endorsements.
Echoing this sentiment, senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan criticized party members making premature comments or social media posts in favor of any candidate. He emphasized the need for discretion and highlighted Rahul Gandhi's campaign advice for collective movement, comparing it to a synchronized 'group dance' where no one should step out of line.
Muraleedharan further clarified that discussions around candidate names, including K C Venugopal's, are inappropriate at this stage. The official procedure dictates a decision post-results, through a meeting of MLAs. Both leaders strongly advised avoiding unnecessary noise and assured that the high command will ultimately decide on leadership.
