On Thursday, TVK chief Vijay unveiled his party's manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections, making significant promises to various groups. Women will receive Rs 2,500 monthly, 8 grams of gold for marriage, and a quality silk saree for indigent brides.

In a bid to enhance women's financial autonomy, the manifesto also pledges interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh for women-led self-help groups. Furthermore, an annual sum of Rs 15,000 will be allocated to mothers as an incentive to reduce school dropouts.

For the agricultural sector, Vijay assured a complete waiver of cooperative crop loans for farmers owning less than five acres. An important aspect of the manifesto is the proposed minimum support price of Rs 3,500 per quintal for paddy, aiming to boost farmers' income.
