DMK Challenges Delimitation Bill: Legal Battle Ahead

The DMK plans to challenge the delimitation bill in the Supreme Court, advocating for the interests of southern states. The DMK announced Thursday its intention to move to the Supreme Court if the controversial delimitation bill is passed by the Parliament. This decision was confirmed by DMK's Legal Department Secretary, N R Elango, during the release of the party's Assembly election campaign song.

Elango emphasized that the party is prepared to take any legal measures necessary to protect the interests of southern states. He voiced doubts about the bill's ability to pass through Parliament and secure presidential approval.

Reiterating this stance, DMK Organising Secretary R S Bharathi expressed confidence in the Supreme Court and criticized the government’s previous demonetization strategy, drawing parallels to current concerns over delimitation, which he claims would disrupt unity between northern and southern states.
