In a bid to promote lasting peace in the Middle East, Russia on Friday welcomed a 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that this period would facilitate agreements to avoid future military conflicts.

Additionally, Russia has reaffirmed its willingness to store Iran's enriched uranium. President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly extended this offer, but, according to Peskov, the United States has not shown interest in discussing the proposal.
