In a sharp political clash, Congress minister Jagat Singh Negi has accused the Centre of using the Women Reservation Bill to further its political ambitions through delimitation, casting it as a strategic ruse. According to Negi, the Women Reservation Bill was already passed in 2023, yet remains unimplemented due to the BJP's alleged desire to leverage the issue for political gains.

Negi criticized the BJP for purportedly creating a scenario beneficial for its own agenda, emphasizing that the bill serves to cover a broader strategy of nationwide delimitation. He further criticized the RSS for its absence of female representation at top levels, notwithstanding its claim as India's largest NGO.

Meanwhile, former Union minister Anurag Singh counterattacked by condemning Congress and its allies, accusing them of being prejudiced against women's rights. Singh asserted that opposing the Constitutional Amendment Bill is an act of injustice against women's entitlements, highlighting the political divide over the issue.
