Senior CPI(M) leader A K Balan on Friday openly criticized former LDF MLA P V Anvar, labeling him a 'political creature' who frequently alters his allegiance, likening him to a chameleon. This comment references Anvar's recent assertions that multiple Left leaders might be poised to join the TMC.
Balan pointed out that Anvar's political journey has been marked by frequent transitions, moving from the LDF first to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and subsequently to the Trinamool Congress (TMC). 'Now, who knows where he will go,' Balan remarked during a television interview, emphasizing that these moves indicate a loss of identity and credibility.
Furthermore, Balan suggested that those departing from the LDF, including Anvar, will struggle to sustain themselves in the regional organization Anvar intends to establish. Anvar, who left the TMC, contested on a UDF-backed ticket and has yet to respond to Balan's comments.
