The Trinamool Congress (TMC) extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to experience a Rs 5 meal at a Maa Canteen during his campaign visit to West Bengal. The TMC, led by spokesperson Kunal Ghosh, challenges the PM to witness the state's progress under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, emphasizing the scheme's role in supporting low-income groups.
Ghosh also addressed Modi’s recent visit to Bengal, mentioning the clean waters of the Hooghly compared to Delhi’s Yamuna, and the vendor from Bihar selling 'jhalmuri' in Jhargram. He questioned the Home Minister Amit Shah's effectiveness in handling border security whenever Modi mentions infiltration issues in West Bengal.
Allegations surfaced against BJP for pressuring the Election Commission, with the Calcutta High Court criticizing restrictions on two-wheelers during the poll. TMC's Ghosh remarked on Bengali Hindus’ camps in Assam, contesting BJP’s claims of their absence, while asserting that the people of Bengal stand against such governance tactics.
