In Gujarat's Mehsana district, heightened political tensions led to a violent clash between rival party supporters, resulting in the death of a BJP candidate's relative. The incident occurred just one day before the local body elections, stirring unrest among party lines.
Miten Chaudhary, 21, identified as the nephew of BJP candidate Mahendra Chaudhary, was fatally attacked by four individuals, including a Congress candidate's husband and son. The perpetrators were armed with a knife, sticks, and a pipe, orchestrating what is now described as a 'pre-planned conspiracy.' The confrontation began at Tavadia crossroad around 12:40 a.m.
An FIR has been filed against the alleged attackers, while police investigations are underway. The incident has intensified security measures in anticipation of the April 26 elections, where thousands of local representatives will be elected across multiple civic bodies.
