PM Modi Accuses TMC of Betrayal and Misgovernance Ahead of West Bengal Polls

Continuing his sharp critique of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the crucial second phase of West Bengal elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday charged the state's ruling party with deviating from its founding mantra of 'Maa, Maati, Manush' and establishing a 'ruthless' administration with dwindling credibility.

Addressing a rally in Arambagh, Hooghly, Modi accused the TMC of being governed by either 'goons' or directives from the judiciary, highlighting the Supreme Court's censure over the government's handling of the coal scam. He cited incidents like the RG Kar hospital rape case and the teacher recruitment scandal as evidence of the TMC's failures, claiming citizens only find justice through court intervention.

Modi condemned the TMC for its alleged misdeeds, resulting in deteriorating trust among Bengal's people. He painted a bleak picture of women's safety in the state, attributing multiple cases of serious crimes to TMC leaders. As an alternative, he outlined the BJP's commitment to empowering women and supporting farmers, promising targeted welfare initiatives to raise standard living in Bengal.
