BJP president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to women's empowerment, asserting that the PM has a proven track record of turning ''resolves into reality'' despite opposition hurdles. Addressing a massive rally in the temple town, Nabin highlighted that the prime minister's initiatives have moved beyond mere welfare schemes to fostering ''women-led leadership'' across the country. Drawing parallels with past legislative victories, Nabin noted that the prime minister's firm stance on issues like Triple Talaq has earned him the blessings of the country's ''Nari Shakti'' (women power). ''Whenever you have taken a pledge for this country, you have transformed that 'sankalp' (resolve) into 'siddhi' (attainment). The nation is witness to how you took up the cause of women's dignity through the Triple Talaq legislation, and in return, half of the country's population showered you with their blessings,'' Nabin said. Addressing the legislative hurdles faced by the recent women's reservation Bill, he added, ''While some may try to stall progress based on technicalities or numbers, we know that because you have made this your mission, it will undoubtedly be completed.'' Nabin, visibly moved by the spiritual significance of the venue, described Varanasi as more than just a geographical entity. ''Kashi is not merely a city or a piece of land; it is the consciousness of an eternal culture that has shown India the confluence of 'Gyan' (knowledge), 'Shakti' (power) and 'Bhakti' (devotion) for ages,'' Nabin said, while also praising women of the region for their ''struggle, hard work, and inner strength''. Nabin detailed the shift in the lives of Indian women over the last decade, crediting the prime minister for providing both sensitivity and leadership. He specifically mentioned the 'Swachh Bharat' and Ujjwala (LPG) schemes as foundational pillars of dignity. ''In the last decade, we haven't just seen schemes for women; we have seen their lives being led by your vision. Today, women are not just joining society; they are providing decisive leadership,'' Nabin said. He further highlighted the evolution of women's roles in modern India, saying, ''Women are now at the forefront of every sector, from traditional farming to artificial intelligence.'' ''For the past few years, we have seen our mothers and sisters leading the Army and paramilitary forces during Republic Day parades. This shows you haven't just empowered them; you have given them the lead,'' he added. He cited 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' as a catalyst for making daughters self-reliant and proud citizens. Nabin linked women's empowerment to the larger goal of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by 2047. ''I bow to the holy soul who gave birth to such a glorious son -- a prime minister who did not just care for his own mother's dignity but restored the honour of crores of mothers and sisters across this nation,'' Nabin said, amid chants from the crowd. He expressed confidence that the prime minister's vision of women-led development would be the primary engine driving India toward its 2047 goals, ensuring that the ''half population'' remains at the centre of the nation's prosperity.
