West Bengal's Fire Services Minister, Sujit Bose, faced questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday concerning an alleged scam in civic body recruitment. This appearance follows a directive from the Calcutta High Court.
Arriving at the ED office in Salt Lake's CGO Complex before 10.30 am, Bose was flanked by his son, Samudra, and two attorneys. Despite having previously ignored three ED summonses, citing election campaign responsibilities, he was compelled to comply with the court's mandate.
Bose contests the allegations of recruitment irregularities tied to the South Dum Dum Municipality, labeling them as politically motivated. The investigation has involved searches of establishments linked to Bose and his son, where investigators claim to have found incriminating materials.
