Sharmila accused Modi of using political tactics to win votes, only to later impose financial burdens on citizens after securing electoral victories. She claimed that the Centre capitalized on low fuel prices to make windfall gains but unjustly escalated rates under the guise of crude oil costs.

Sharmila further warned of the wider economic implications, asserting that the surge in gas prices would 'burn' ordinary citizens, especially students, migrant workers, and small business operators reliant on LPG supply, to sustain their livelihoods.
