Voter Turnout Dips During West Bengal Repoll
TMC MP Saugata Roy commented on the lower voter turnout during repolling in Mograhat Paschim and Diamond Harbour. The decrease, attributed to outstation voters having left after April 29, witnessed 87% turnout compared to the previous 92.48%. The repoll was necessitated due to reported violence and irregularities.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy on Saturday remarked that the lower voter turnout recorded during the repolling sessions in Mograhat Paschim and Diamond Harbour was neither surprising nor unnatural.
He attributed the dip to outstation voters who had initially participated on April 29 but had since left the district. The repolling, which occurred in 15 booths across West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, concluded with an approximate 87 percent turnout. Diamond Harbour previously registered a turnout of 92.48 percent by April 29's end.
The need for repolling in specific booths arose after the Election Commission received complaints concerning violence, intimidation, and procedural irregularities during the initial polling phase.
