Deepa Dasmunshi, AICC general secretary, announced that UDF allies have entrusted the Congress with choosing the chief ministerial candidate if the UDF wins in Kerala. Deepa Dasmunshi, the AICC general secretary, confirmed that United Democratic Front (UDF) allies have deferred the choice of chief ministerial candidate to the Congress should the alliance secure victory in Kerala's recent Assembly elections.
The elections took place on April 9, with results expected on May 4. Dasmunshi assured that the Congress's decision-making protocol would involve consultations with elected MLAs and the final call would be made by the party's high command.
Despite considerable conjecture, primarily on social media, regarding the potential candidates, including senior party leaders like V D Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala, the party will adhere to its traditional procedural approach.
