UDF Takes Early Lead in Kerala Assembly Polls

In the early stages of vote counting for the Kerala Assembly polls, the Congress-led UDF has taken a substantial lead, suggesting they might capture power in the state. Initial figures show the UDF leading in over 90 seats, indicating strong support and a potential victory.

Early indications from the counting of votes in the April 9 Kerala Assembly elections reveal a significant lead for the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF). Initial trends suggest the UDF is ahead in more than 90 seats, potentially securing a comfortable majority to take control of the state's governance.

The Election Commission's early figures put the Congress at the forefront in 50 seats, followed by CPI(M) leading in 31 seats, and other parties such as IUML and CPI also making notable headway. This could signify a sweeping victory for the UDF in the state elections, should the trend continue.

Sunny Joseph, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief, expressed optimism about reaching the 100-seat milestone. With UDF's strong performance in initial counts, he noted a visible pro-UDF trend, signaling robust support from the electorate.
