Amid ongoing vote counting in Tamil Nadu, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is making significant strides, posing a challenge to the traditionally dominant parties, DMK and AIADMK. According to the Election Commission of India trends, TVK, led by chief Vijay, is leading in 108 constituencies, signaling a shift in the state’s political dynamics.

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin is leading from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly seat, while Chief Minister MK Stalin is trailing in his race. Meanwhile, TVK rival Selvam D is lagging by over 300 votes. Celebrations erupted among TVK supporters, who showcased party solidarity through jubilant renditions of Vijay's 'whistle podu' song.

In the broader election landscape, AIADMK is leading in 64 constituencies, followed by DMK in 40, with Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Indian National Congress (INC), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managing leads in fewer seats. As the counting progresses, the final outcomes remain pending, with TVK's remarkable emergence adding a new layer to Tamil Nadu's political tapestry.
