Amid a fiercely contested electoral battle, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has regained her lead over BJP opponent Suvendu Adhikari in the Bhabanipur constituency after the third round of vote counting.
Data from the Election Commission has indicated that Banerjee is ahead by 898 votes with 9,359 total votes in her favor, compared to Adhikari's 8,461. This comes after Adhikari took the lead in the second round with a margin of 1,558 votes.
The Bhabanipur constituency is under tight security, with the political contest viewed as a major prestige battle, as Adhikari, the BJP's Leader of the Opposition, challenges Banerjee’s leadership.
