BJP's election hopes in Tamil Nadu face hurdles as key candidates, such as state chief Nainar Nagenthran and Union Minister L Murugan, trail behind rivals from DMK and TVK.
Nagenthran, representing Sattur for the first time, faces a 909-vote deficit against DMK's Kadarkarairaj A, while L Murugan trails TVK's Kamali S by 2,080 votes in Avanashi.
Despite some BJP candidates leading in constituencies like Nagercoil, the party's overall performance highlights challenges, as they contest 27 seats in alliance with AIADMK.
