K K Rema, the leader of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP), has openly criticized Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, emphasizing the political significance of his struggle in the Dharmadom constituency. Rema’s sharp comments emerged on Monday as she reflected on the closely contested Kerala Assembly elections.
The entry of Rema into electoral politics followed the brutal murder of her husband, T P Chandrasekharan, in 2012 — a case allegedly involving CPI(M) activists that ignited a significant political storm in Kerala. As the state counts votes, Rema shared her observations via a Facebook post, spotlighting the tightly fought race in Dharmadom, where Vijayan faces competition from Congress candidate V P Abdul Rasheed.
Rema, contesting from Vadakara and leading the vote count, highlighted Vijayan's early setback in the first six rounds, remarking, "Enough, Kerala. This is enough." Her reflections suggest a democratic reckoning, referencing past political betrayals and positioning Kerala's current political dynamics as an exposure of truths long awaited by her late husband.
