Thennarasu K of TVK emerged as the frontrunner against TNCC chief K Selvaperunthagai in the Sriperumbudur assembly constituency, demonstrating a substantial lead early in the vote count on Monday.

Congress candidates across other constituencies, including promises such as Killiyoor, faced similar setbacks, often trailing TVK opponents. Prominent figures like S Rajesh Kumar fell behind rival Sabin S by narrow margins.
