Ranoj Pegu Secures Hat-Trick Victory in Dhemaji
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu wins the Dhemaji assembly seat for the third consecutive time, defeating Congress's Sailen Sonowal by 32,229 votes. Pegu, who handles education and tribal affairs in Assam's government, first won in a 2017 bypoll and retained his position in 2021 and 2023.

Ranoj Pegu, the Education Minister of Assam, securing a third consecutive term, retained the Dhemaji assembly constituency seat by a significant margin.
According to the Election Commission, Pegu triumphed over Congress candidate Sailen Sonowal with a lead of 32,229 votes.
This victory continues Pegu's political journey, which began with a bypoll win in 2017, solidifying his role in the Himanta Biswa Sarma government.
