Allegations have surfaced regarding a technical glitch in the voting machines used during the Balurghat assembly elections. TMC candidate Arpita Ghosh expressed concerns about inconsistencies in the battery levels, suggesting possible discrepancies that affected the outcome.

Ghosh stated that although the machines showed a charge of 98% during polling, they displayed 92-95% upon arrival for counting. TMC has formally complained and warned of possible legal action if no resolution is provided.

Despite the controversy, BJP candidate Bidyut Kumar Roy emerged victorious over Ghosh by 47,576 votes. Reports of violence have also surfaced, with TMC's Bishu Dhar allegedly attacked by BJP supporters. The election period was marked by high voter turnout and intense campaigning.
