Singh penned a resignation letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, expressing that stepping aside is crucial for bringing in fresh leadership and a new direction for the embattled party. 'I take full responsibility for my role in the outcome,' Singh stated, reflecting on the election results.

The election saw the ruling NDA, with BJP at its helm, secure a third consecutive term after winning 102 out of 126 seats. Meanwhile, Congress managed to win just 19 seats, marking a substantial setback in a state once considered a stronghold for the party.
